Kirill Agafyin, the group's leader, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and sound engineer, is the only permanent member throughout the band's lineups. For the first three years of its existence, the band concentrated on improving their skill via practice and songwriting. Then, in 2018, they published their debut EP, "Drink and Rock'n'Roll". The group had a sabbatical around the end of 2022, but they are back in business since the autumn of 2023, with a new roster and renewed vitality. </div><div><br /></div><div>"<b>Song For Nomad</b>" begins with a melodious acoustic guitar while the vocalist tells his trip experience. Strings swell as the tempo lowers on a massive prog rock hymn laced with Middle Eastern and Celtic musical themes and plenty of shredding. A wall of electric guitars, keys, and multi-part vocal harmonies support the soloist as he delivers a song on life, death, and beyond.

In late 2018, their debut album "Valley Of The Universe" was released globally to excellent acclaim. Andy then acquired the talents of Ben Hall and Mat Evans to complete the band's live lineup and went on tour to promote the record. Jump to 2023, they recorded their second album at the renowned Rancho De La Luna studios in Joshua Tree, California; "Refuge of Sinners" was released in 2024.<br /><br /></div>This is their new single, called "<b>Yeah Hey</b>". After listening to some singles, I was uninterested in this new Scott Stapp album. I really like him as a singer and I love some songs by Creed or his solo career or projects (Art of Anarchy, above all), but the production of the title track and especially "<b>Black Butterfly</b>" (come on Scott, you don't need autotune, you are a great singer) put me off. But I gave it a chance anyway and I'm happy I did it.<div><br /></div>The lyrics are, as always, very intense, personal, and kind of dark, Scott's trademark. There are lots of ballads too, and honestly, I prefer Scott's voice in this environment so I can't say I am not happy about it. As I said, I didn't like the single "Black Butterfly" and I have also mixed feelings about the title track, a little too modern in terms of production for my taste,. but some songs struck me on the first listen. "<b>When Love Is Not Enough</b>", and especially "<b>What I Deserve</b>" and "<b>Dancing In The Rain</b>" are beautiful power ballads, for instance. Good songs are the energetic "<b>Deadman's Trigger</b>" and "<b>Quicksand</b>" and Scott's vocal performance is spectacular in terms of intensity in the second part of "<b>You’re Not Alone</b>". <div><br /></div><div>"<b>Higher Power</b>" is a good album, with the right length (39 minutes for 10 songs), different types of songs (but with an inclination toward power ballads, I warn you in case you are not a fan) and good songs, the main ingredient for a good album. I think you will see this one in my personal top 10 of 2024, at the end of the year.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Rating 70/100</b></div><div><b>Top tracks: </b>"<b>When Love Is Not Enough</b>", "<b>What I Deserve</b>", "<b>Dancing In The Rain</b>"</div><div><br /></div><div>Track List:<div>Higher Power<br />Deadman’s Trigger<br />When Love Is Not Enough<br />What I Deserve<br />If These Walls Could Talk<br />Black Butterfly<br />Quicksand<br />You’re Not Alone<br />Dancing In The Rain<br />Weight Of The World</div></div><div><br /></div>

They entered the gigging scene with a well-rehearsed set of top-notch covers. They set out to perform songs by some of today's top folk and indie rock bands. The Horizons began working on their original music after quickly gaining experience performing at bars, clubs, weddings, and birthday parties with an ever-expanding set. They have a significant fan base in the area thanks to their impressive guitar riffs, catchy lyrics, and epic drumming. The Horizons are dedicated to bringing their big band sound to venues across the nation. The Horizons write songs that are inspired by their experiences growing up in an ocean city.<br /><br />This is their new single, "<b>The Fortune Teller</b>". The band commented on the song: "It features a huge, in your face guitar riff that sits perfectly under the epic vocal hits. The song was written to reflect how certain people think they know you better than you know yourself. They think they can predict what you are going to do next, thus becoming Fortune tellers."<div><br /></div><div>I love the guitar riffs, and the very dynamic rhythm section (phenomenal drumming). <b><br />
Whom Gods Destroy</b> guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal commented about
“The Decision” as follows:<br />
<i>“This song is filled with duality - djenty math metal riffs with
contrasting slow clean chord movements, vocal and guitar lines answering each
other, and lyrics about struggling with a life-and-death decision, with song
sections that score differing points of view...hope vs defeat, euphoria vs
despair, internally battling it out.”</i><br />
<br />
And <b>Whom Gods Destroy</b> vocalist Dino Jelusick added
the following comment about today’s album release:<br />
<i>“Super proud of this chaos that we delivered. Each song on this album is a
story for itself and it works as a whole. I cannot wait to tour this album and
for us to finally play these songs live!"</i></span><o:p></o:p></p>

Whereas Madness concentrates on everything that happens on Earth, Myths tells a different narrative about Gods and their human-like flaws. With the follow-up single Tragedy already recorded, each song crafts a realistic picture by intertwining storylines and timeframes, culminating in the ultimate crescendo!<br /></div><div><br /></div>The song starts with a tasty guitar riff, followed by intense vocals. I really like the atmosphere of the verses, culminating in a catchy chorus that will get stuck in your head. Check out also the instrumental break, powerful and melodic. This is a great song, give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and remember to follow <b>INVESTIGATOR</b> on social media.

The EP, a five-track release, is co-produced with Pamela Moore (Queensryche). Chris Gohde (My Sister's Machine, Accused A.D.) played drums, while John Hansen (Erik's father) supplied pedal steel guitar on the songs Horizon and Forever Dream.</div><div><br /></div><div>"<b>The Road</b>" opens the EP with a tasty guitar riff. The song is Hard rock but easy listening too, thanks to catchy vocals and solos. Solid riff, punk atmospheres and dynamic drumming for "<b>Send Me a Sign</b>", the soundtrack to each foolish question you've ever been asked - Erik explains - anyone who has ever cut you off, and any last-minute task that comes in 5 minutes before you finish work.</div><div><br /></div><div>"<b>Horizon</b>", track number three is an enjoyable ballad, very folky and atmospheric, while "<b>Traveler</b>" opens with fantastic drumming and a heavy metal guitar. I love the guitars on this track, probably my favourite one on the EP. "<b>Forever Dream</b>" melodic arpeggio brings me back to 80s hard rock. The song is a power ballad, with a catchy chorus. A good finale. </div><div><br /></div><div><b>"Seasons of the Wind"</b> is a very enjoyable release, well written and performed by Erik and his band and with lots of interesting ideas and details. It was produced, once again, by the band's touring guitarist Andy Sneap, who previously produced my beloved "<b>Firepower</b>" in 2018, for me one of the best albums of the last decade.<br /><br />The band officially began writing sessions in February 2020, but as guitarist Richie Faulkner later stated, they "faced some challenges with schedules due to the pandemic" and had not been able to get together and work on new music: "We wanted to keep it the same dynamic as Firepower - as we all got together, played the songs in pre-production before recording them".<br /></div><div><br /></div>Luckily for me and those who loved Firepower, <b>Invincible Shield </b>could be seen as volume 2 of its predecessor from every point of view. The production is granitic (well, it's an Andy Sneap record...), the songwriting is, again, very inspired, and the performance is of course top notch with Rob Halford sounding very natural and comfortable with all the material (including the hard parts). <div><br /></div><div>The opener and single "<b>Panic Attack</b>" is fast, energetic, and catchy... A spectacular opener and definitely one of the best songs on the album. In "<b>The Serpent And The King</b>" Rob Halford sounds almost like the Painkiller era (he's 72!), the <b>title track</b>, the longest of the album, has a spectacular solo section and drumming (what a sound!).</div><div><br /><div>There are no bad songs on the album, maybe just some are less inspired than others, but definitely no skip tracks as every single one has something memorable or catchy. "<b>Crown of Horns</b>" has a fantastic chorus and great solos, for example. "<b>As God Is My Witness</b>" is pure Heavy metal (the riffs and the drumming of Scott Travis!) and with a chorus that will never go away from your head, as well as the magnificent "<b>Trial by Fire</b>", pure Priest and probably my favourite on the album. </div><div><br /></div><div>Towards the end of the album we find the angry "<b>Escape From Reality</b>" and the rough "<b>Sons of Thunder</b>" (I love the chorus). while the closing "<b>Giants In The Sky</b>", is dedicated to the legends who are not with us anymore. "You won't ever die", Rob sings, with a great and peculiar acoustic section in the middle of the song.<br /><br />Of course, we can expect nothing new from a band with 50 years of career but "<b>Invincible Shield</b>" is another little gem in their discography, a quality album from every point of view: production, performance, attitude and songwriting. This is the best album of 2024, so far, for me. No doubt about it.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Rating 78/100</b></div><div><b>Top track: Panic Attack, Trial By Fire, As God Is My Witness.</b><br /><br /></div></div>

<br />
<br />"Orgy Of The Damned" is an album of 12 dynamic songs that shake up and revitalise blues classics with a stripped-down, instinctual approach, resulting in a unique expression that pays tribute to the blues.<br /><br />The first song, "<b>Killing Floor</b>," includes Brian Johnson of AC/DC on vocals and Steven Tyler of AEROSMITH on harmonica. It's an electric, rowdy, and joyously uninhibited version of Howlin' Wolf's 1964 Chicago blues staple.<br /></div><div><br /></div>"Orgy Of The Damned" track listing:<div><br />01. The Pusher (feat. Their music is similar to those of artists such as Deftones, Circa Survive, and Karnivool. The distinction between bone-shaking riffs and vocal hooks is becoming increasingly blurred. Based in Sydney, Australia, they made their debut in 2019 with the track "Catalyst". The alt-rock hymn was warmly praised due to its stunningly operatic vocals and jaw-droppingly powerful guitar chords. This prompted them to release their debut album "In Phaneron of One" in August 2019. </div><div><br /></div>This is their new single, "<b>North Star</b>". The band stated: "This song is a spiritual journey of self-discovery and connection with the universe. It explores themes of transcendence, cosmic awareness, and the pursuit of meaning. His inspirations span several genres, although his origins are in blues, funk, and rock. Drawing inspiration from Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gary Clark Jr., Sublime, ELO, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, and others.<br /><br />Paulie began playing guitar at an early age and eventually joined the local performance scene. The original band Ricotta Rojo, which included Gerard Kiernan and Fionn O'Donohoe, provided the first major push. During this time, Paulie began composing and performing as a solo artist, headlining shows and supporting several musicians between the two. <br /></div><div><br /></div>This is his new single, called <b>Talk is Cheap (Pink Flamingo)</b>. "Rockin' in the Free World" by Neil Young is one such anthem. Released in 1989 on his album "Freedom," this song not only captured the spirit of its time but continues to resonate as a powerful commentary on social and political issues.</div><div><br /><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DvxxdZpMFHg?si=BJEndPv37WM6XrQG" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div><div><br /></div><h3 style="text-align: left;">The Birth of an Anthem</h3><div>"<b>Rockin' in the Free World</b>" emerged from a period of intense creativity for Neil Young. Coming off the critical success of his album "Harvest," Young was inspired to create music that reflected the tumultuous political and social climate of the late 1980s. The result was "Freedom," an album filled with raw emotion and unfiltered commentary.</div><div><br /></div><div>The song itself is a driving rock anthem, fueled by Young's gritty guitar riffs and impassioned vocals. From the opening chords, it grabs the listener's attention and never lets go. The chorus, with its repeated refrain of "Keep on rockin' in the free world," became a rallying cry for those seeking change and a reminder of the enduring power of music to inspire action.</div><h3 style="text-align: left;"><br />Social Commentary and Critique</h3><div>What sets "<b>Rockin' in the Free World</b>" apart is its unflinching critique of the American dream. In the verses, Young paints a vivid picture of a country rife with inequality, poverty, and disillusionment. He sings about homeless people sleeping on the streets, drug addiction, and the struggles of ordinary people just trying to get by.</div><div><br /></div><div>The song's lyrics take on issues that are as relevant today as they were in 1989. Lines like "We got a thousand points of light for the homeless man" and "We got a kinder, gentler machine gun hand" cut to the heart of the political rhetoric of the time. Young was not afraid to challenge the status quo and call out hypocrisy where he saw it.</div><h3 style="text-align: left;"><br />Impact and Legacy</h3><div><br /></div><div>"<b>Rockin' in the Free World</b>" quickly became an anthem for social change. It was embraced by activists, protesters, and anyone who felt disillusioned with the state of the world. Its chorus, simple yet powerful, became a mantra for those who believed in the possibility of a better future.</div><div><br /></div><div>The song's impact has extended far beyond its initial release. It has been covered by countless artists across genres, from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qkg56kYv6I" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Pearl Jam</a> to <a href="https://youtu.be/SlTkH-cm_Tc?si=tjbpb-FJov0NT4CP" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Bon Jovi,</a> highlighting its enduring relevance. Young himself continues to perform it in his concerts, often with added verses addressing current events, ensuring that its message stays fresh and vital.</div><div><br /></div><h3 style="text-align: left;">A Timeless Message</h3><div>What makes "<b>Rockin' in the Free World</b>" timeless is its universal message of resilience and hope. Despite the challenges we face, the song urges us to keep pushing forward, to keep fighting for a better world. Its energy is infectious, its spirit indomitable.</div><div><br /></div><div>As we look back on Neil Young's career and the impact of "Rockin' in the Free World," we are reminded of the power of music to inspire, unite, and provoke change. It stands as a testament to the artist's unwavering commitment to speaking truth to power and a reminder that the fight for justice and freedom is an ongoing one.</div><div><br /></div><div>So, as we listen to the familiar chords and sing along to the chorus, let us remember the message of "Rockin' in the Free World." Let us keep on rockin', keep on striving for a world where freedom truly reigns, and where the voices of the marginalized are heard. In the words of Neil Young, "Don't feel like Satan, but I am to them, so I try to forget it anyway I can... Keep on rockin' in the free world."</div>Giovanni Gaglianohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05227045304058379578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8930436743459491769.post-14746143514982901862024-03-06T10:04:00.000+00:002024-03-06T10:04:02.049+00:00Attendant - Patriot Parade<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCvymRTv_outnOGrwptwy_FucA_gqaUaIfLraCLhbT_lcgoxtbe90gG-PD_Hvr-PXSOL4aYjLI47wr3RDh5XTBWV18xHW93SLbTXlH-r4ZXWB32hD0HeJ06wbLAT95sWFL18euVMKAdammMUIk8bFgNt1uf0cgZ52n5JQSqKmriayNqhJbfsIeL-FfzYU/s1000/eyJidWNrZXQiOiJzdWJtaXRodWIiLCJrZXkiOiJpbWFnZXMvb3JpZ2luYWwvS1pMNGNoUHdtenV5WlBOc3Mvc2lkZS1leWUtZ3JleS0xNzA1NDE3NzE3OTg3LmpwZyIsImVkaXRzIjp7InJlc2l6ZSI6eyJ3aWR0aCI6IjEwMDAiLCJoZWlnaHQiOiIxMDAwIiwiZml0IjoiaW5zaWRlI.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCvymRTv_outnOGrwptwy_FucA_gqaUaIfLraCLhbT_lcgoxtbe90gG-PD_Hvr-PXSOL4aYjLI47wr3RDh5XTBWV18xHW93SLbTXlH-r4ZXWB32hD0HeJ06wbLAT95sWFL18euVMKAdammMUIk8bFgNt1uf0cgZ52n5JQSqKmriayNqhJbfsIeL-FfzYU/s320/eyJidWNrZXQiOiJzdWJtaXRodWIiLCJrZXkiOiJpbWFnZXMvb3JpZ2luYWwvS1pMNGNoUHdtenV5WlBOc3Mvc2lkZS1leWUtZ3JleS0xNzA1NDE3NzE3OTg3LmpwZyIsImVkaXRzIjp7InJlc2l6ZSI6eyJ3aWR0aCI6IjEwMDAiLCJoZWlnaHQiOiIxMDAwIiwiZml0IjoiaW5zaWRlI.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br />Since 2020, London-based <b>Attendant </b>has been producing infectious genre-bending Brit music.
The band's music is based on alternative rock, but composer Andy Walker is inspired by commercial pop, film scores, video game soundtracks, and TV commercials - anything that may sow the germ of a hook. The technique mixes energy and rhythm with sharp lyrical wit, crafting sarcastic stories about society.<br /><br />Previous singles have been played by Daniel P Carter, Alyx Holcombe, and Nels Hylton on BBC Radio 1; Alex Baker on Kerrang! Radio; and Brian Foss on Seattle's KEXP. The band has appeared on editorial playlists produced by Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Tidal, and YouTube. </div><div><br /></div>This is their new single, called <b>Patriot Parade</b>. The band said about the song: "We wanted to build something around a bass-driven hook, like Green Day’s Longview, but with obnoxious levels of cowbell. The song builds until you think it can’t build anymore - and then it goes even harder. It’s an anti-racist protest song, taking aim at populist demagogues and their followers. The sound mashes punk, alt-rock and Britpop, with elements of Blur, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, and Green Day".<div><br /></div><div>I love the bass lines and the alternative mood of the guitars, reminding me of the first Foo Fighters. Great vocals as well, very catchy and well performed for a very enjoyable song from start to finish.
