Sons Of Silver is a rock n roll band from Los Angeles. Today, let's have a chat with the singer/guitarist of the band, Pete Argyropoulos.
The complete band line-up is: Pete Argyropoulos [vocals, guitar], Brina Kabler [keys, vocals], Kevin Haaland [lead guitar], Adam Kury [bass], and Dave Krusen [drums].
The band has released two EPs so far: Doomsday Noises (2020) and Ordinary Sex Appeal (2022).
What do you write about?
I write about what I see, hear, and feel. So, since what we all see, hear and feel is pretty intense, these days, I tend to write about intense stuff. That said, I make sure to poke a little fun at myself and the subject, at the same time. I think there’s a tendency to overvalue ourselves and our own opinions.
Your favourite live performance so far?
Roseland Theater, Portland, Oregon. That place rocks. Amazing rock ’n’ roll history and amazing rock ’n’ roll vibe.
Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage.
This story pre-dates Sons Of Silver. A roommate of mine was working at a hotel where ACDC was staying. She got to know them and give them some of my songs to check out. Next thing I know Brian Johnson and one of the other guys show up at one of our gigs. It was classic, down, and dirty rock ’n’ roll club in LA. It was a packed weekend night. My band was headlining. The lights were bright and in our faces on the stage. Above the cheering of the crowd came Brian’s voice screaming out our songs. I was blown away. And the story gets better. As soon as we finished our set, he jumped on stage and started helping us offload our gear from the stage. Another mind-blowing moment. We started to chat on the side of the stage. The club manager came over to join the conversation and, shortly after, took us all to a private room. With a couple of pitchers of beer on the table, we spent the next few beers trading stories. I’ll never forget how kind and down to earth Brian was. A real joy to hang with and a treasure of wisdom. I hope I get to meet him again someday and thank him, in person.
A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
Well, following up on my story about a funny thing that happened on stage, I’d like to meet Brian Johnson for a beer or two. But, if not Brian, hmmm, I’d have to say it’s a tie between The Edge and Paul McCartney.
- What would you ask for backstage, if you were the most important band on earth?
Well, pre-concert, I’d like to have a workout bench with some weights. I like a little bit of workout before going on stage. But, after the show, some pizza and a good Belgian-style ale like an Allagash Curieux. Workout + concert + beer + pizza = balance. Haha.
How do you sound sound like?
We don’t sound like any of these artists. Bust, we’ve borrowed an ingredient or two from each of them and made our own stew: Rolling Stones, The Clash, Radiohead, Bruce Springsteen, Kings Of Leon.

Rolling Stones, The Clash, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Black Sabbath, ACDC, Frank Sinatra, The Verve, John Mellencamp, to name just a few.
