Ellis in Transit is a British-Canadian alternative rock band from Hamilton, Ontario, with a musical sound evocative of the late 1960s and early 1990s. The band began as an acoustic duet in Scotland when a chance meeting brought together vocalist Alexandria Shankland and guitarist Philip James. They toured the United Kingdom for a year before relocating to Canada and forming a complete band. Their music mixes Britpop guitar riffs with blues-rock vocal stylings to produce a distinct, nostalgic vibe.
This is their new single, called
Give me a Sign. I love the energy (fantastic bass lines), and the explosive chorus, anthemic and super catchy (it will get stuck in your head, I promise). The production is perfect for the genre and band's performance absolutely spot on. Love at first listen, for me.
