Highway Natives - A Bullet With My Name

Highway Natives is a five-piece American rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. Highway Natives conjures up early Allman Brothers, The Black Crowes, and savours of the fictional band Stillwater in Almost Famous, with "a throwback '70s atmosphere blended with roots-flavored country-rock brawn" (Medium). Despite their various influences, the ensemble is most known for their deep, soulful harmonies, artistic full-bodied guitar stylings, and a rhythm section whose lively timekeeping is nestled firmly beneath singable and raw lyrics that swap between the two lead singers.

The group issued their first project, a self-titled EP, in May of 2021, which had four carefully selected songs from a collection of tunes they were already performing live. Highway Natives' debut EP received critical acclaim from sites such as American Songwriter and Medium, propelling them to stages around the Southeast.

This is their new single, called A Bullet With My Name, starting with a nice acoustic guitar and a contagious groove from the rhythm section. The vocals are clean but somewhat intense, especially during the chorus, very catchy. Check out the guitar solos, very inspired, before and after the last chorus. The song is very well performed by the five guys and with a good sound. Give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and don't forget to follow Highway Natives on social media as well.
