REDPRINT - The Plan (2023)

Redprint is a rock band from the Southwest of the Netherlands. The band is made up four members who are all greatly influenced by the good tunes of the early 1970s and early 1990s. They began as a cover band over a decade ago, and they have now released their first EP of originals called "The Plan".

The EP consists of 5 songs for 27 minutes of music. "Stop Running" opens with a simple and effective guitar riff reminding me of Kiss. The song has a strong chorus (catchy vocals) and it's a very good choice as an opener. Speaking of good choruses, another good example is the following track "Telephone" which features a great rhythm section, dynamic, precise and vibrant. My favourite part is the solo section in the middle of the song.

I love the pace and the mood of "Herd", great guitars, and pure rock n' roll. Tasty bass lines and fantastic riffs for "Colour me insane" (great lyrics too!) while the last track "Immersion" (almost 8 minutes long) features a more relaxed atmosphere. I really like the vocal lines and I find the song overall very interesting with lots of mood changes and a great solo section in the second part.

"The Plan" is definitely a very good debut, where you can clearly hear how all the members of the band connect to each other and fuse their influence and their experience towards the original songs, very well written and performed and very enjoyable from start to finish.
