Niels Rahder - The Times Are Now

Niels Rahder is a Danish artist who wrote this song as a tribute to the progressive rock genre. He performed, recorded, and professionally mixed it at a studio in his hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden.
His musical influences include alternative artists like Dinasour Jr., Beck, Sebadoh, Pavement, Sonic Youth, Melvins, Helmet, Jane's Addiction, Big Star, and Galaxie 500. Punk bands include Sex Pistols, The Stooges, Dead Kennedys, Rancid, The Clash, Green Day, Poison Idea, Crass, X, MC5, and NOFX.

This is his new single, called The Times Are Now. The artist wrote about it: "The song is about a guy playing music in bars who then meets a girl and leaves his hometown. This becomes too boring for him and they then decide to move back to the city where he thrives, and they try to make it work, even though life is difficult at times. This song ́s title is inspired by that meditative thought."

I really like the drumming (what a sound) and the energy of the track, with old-style punk vocals, energetic riffs and very cool guitar solos as well. Speaking of cool things, there is a very interesting melodic break in the middle of the song, followed by catchy vocals.
