Finnish band ANTIPOPE includes elements from heavy metal and prog in the 1970s to death metal, doom metal, and industrial metal throughout their albums. Violent Journey Records signed the band in 2011, and the two albums that resulted from this partnership were "House of Harlot" (2011) and "3 Eyes of Time" (2013). The 2017 album "Denial/Survival" demonstrated Antipope's return to their progressive beginnings.
The international breakthrough album "Apostle of Infinite Joy" by Antipope was released by Fertile Crescent Productions/Moribund Records in 2020. In 2022, Moribund Records issued its sixth studio album, "Rex Mundi," a concept album that continued their alchemical experiments. "Doors of the Dead," a genre-bending journey to the depths of consciousness and beyond the tomb, marked Antipope's comeback in 2024.
This is their single, "Treasure in the Deep". I love the riffs and the Maiden vibes throughout the song. The vocals are energetic and inspired.
