Jon Maybey - The Polden Polka

Jon Maybey is a guitarist, mandolin player and composer based in Somerset, UK.  

His latest album "Time Will Tell", released 2/2/25 captures the spirit of Celtic folk-rock with traditional tunes, acoustic interludes and intricate arrangements. Mandolins and flutes play alongside electric and acoustic guitars with a tight and dynamic rhythm section.  “I wanted to work with a band in a studio rather than on a stage and I’m very happy with the outcome. It has a very human feel which is refreshing amongst all the electronic music that is dominating the landscape” says the artist.

This is his latest single, "The Polden PoIka", an instrumental track in between folk and progressive rock. It's extremely interesting and amazingly written and performed. I love the riffs (very catchy) and the overall mood of the song, easy listening despite the complexity of some parts.
