Daring Greatly - Trenches

Daring Greatly, originally from the sunny eastern foothills of Canada's Rocky Mountains near Calgary, Alberta, effectively blends rock and country into a sound that crosses borders. The Croome brothers, Patrick and Liam, and percussionist Brayden Tario formed the ensemble in their home in Canada. As they grew, their musical interests led them to the beaches of San Diego, where they have continued to thrive musically. Jeff Starkey plays electric guitar, while Brendan Cutrer plays bass. The band published four full-length albums: "Cornerstones" (2016), "Works of Art" (2017), "Give Myself to the World" (2021), and "Gird Valley" (2022).

“Trenches” is their new song. The band commented: "It's a high-impact, emotionally-driven rock track with southern grit and modern polish. With soulful vocals, dynamic builds, and a chorus that hits hard, the song speaks to the resilience of pushing through when life feels heavy. It’s about showing up—even when you’re deep in it. While it leans into a southern rock feel, “Trenches” transcends genre lines, bringing together classic rock energy, pop sensibility, and even a touch of country storytelling."

I really like the mood (the song will make you tap your foot) and the band's performance (fantastic guitars, above all). “Trenches” is an old-school song, classic rock style, with a no-frills approach and structure, and with the perfect production for the genre. A very enjoyable song from start to finish. Give it a go on the YouTube player above and follow Daring Greatly on social media.
