Lisbon, Portugal-based Progressive/Stoner/Hard Rock band Elderstag is an emerging band
formed in 2020 that have been working in the last years to finally come alive in 2024 with
the first single “King Of Yourself”, released on December 15th, 2024, while their self-titled debut dropped on January 13, 2025. The band comprises Tiago Oliveira on vocals and bass (The Chapter, Ex. Voidust), Gonçalo Assunção on guitar and vocals (Diabolical Mental State, Ex. Voidust, Ex. Bullycow Tattoo), João Pedro Carmo on guitar (Ex. Voidust), and Diogo Belo on drums (Fonte). The band is influenced by several subgenres of rock and metal, from the most classic to the most modern.
King Of Yourself is pure fun, starting from the video, which is high-quality and very enjoyable. The song features a powerful rhythm section, a wall of guitars, and energetic and catchy vocals. It's got great solo sections, too, with a classic metal style (who said Maiden?) finale. It's a very cool song.
