Henry van der Zwan was born in Haarlem, the Netherlands, and began playing guitar at the age of 15. Although he had been surrounded by music from a young age, it was at this point that he started to focus on the instrument. He listened to hard rock and metal, particularly the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). At home, he was exposed to a variety of musical genres, including jazz, classical, pop, rock, disco, and funk.
Henry's first full-length album, 'Soaring Over Clay', was published in January 2023, following the publication of his first EP (Sketching) in 2021 and his second in 2022 (Grass & Scroll, with guest artist Derek Sherinian) and an EP in 2023.
This is his new song, called "Fluffy Puppy Boogie". If you have a dog, you can put on this very cool song while watching your dog. The artist describes the song as "an instrumental happy metal track about a puppy running around and going crazy," and I couldn't describe it better. Musically speaking, the guitars are amazing, melodic and with a fantastic sound, and I also love the mood of the song, frantic but melodic. Give it a go and follow Henry van der Zwan on social media as well.
