Linn Holmstedt, a Swedish-born singer-songwriter, has made her mark in the Los Angeles rock scene as a sought-after session vocalist. Influenced by gospel and rock legends like Aretha Franklin and Fleetwood Mac, her sound blends soulful melodies with classic rock grit.
Singing since infancy, Linn honed her craft in Stockholm before relocating to LA in 2018 to study vocals. Since then, she’s collaborated with artists such as Nine Mile Station and Harry Katz and the Pistachios, and performed at Whisky A Go Go’s Ultimate Jam Night alongside industry icons. She also co-leads the blues/rock duo Swedish Highcoast Ensemble.
2024 marks a new chapter as Linn embarks on her solo project, with her debut self-titled works set to release in spring. Teaming up with producer Tom Chandler, she's bringing her vision to life while also contributing to upcoming projects with glam-rock artist Jules & the Howl, Jim Scott, and more. Expect a big year ahead for this dynamic vocalist.
This is a cover of Whipping Post, originally released by The Allman Brothers, in 1969. I love the performance and the production, which gives the song a fresh and modern approach. A very enjoyable song, amazingly performed by Whipping Post. Give it a go by clicking on the player above and follow the artist on social media.
