Since the beginning of 2021, Portland, Oregon-based singer-songwriter Paul Nourigat has put out five albums. With incredible instrumentalists from all around the world, these songs are for the heart, head, and soul. "Smiles That Pass By," the fifth album, was released in May 2024. All-analog, multi-genre Americana with an emphasis on original songs and with no artificial intelligence! Paul composes and plays Americana-style music that blends blues, country, folk, and rock, drawing inspiration from Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, The Eagles, and Jackson Browne.
The artist describes his new song, Don't Say Game Over: "This is an original, lead single for my sixth album ("Curious Directions") coming out this fall. Don't Say Game Over is a country rock/Americana track blessed with backing vocals from Atlanta's Carrie K, Italian guitarist Michele Caccavale, and produced in Paul's hometown of Portland, Oregon. Written and sung from the heart, full of life's experiences and the importance of encouraging others - and ourselves - in our potential. Building people up, not tearing them down, and always believing in what is possible.
I love the message and the lyrics, the classy and simple arrangement, and the band's performance (great drumming). A simple song, but beautifully made.
