Striking Copper - Gunslinger

Striking Copper is a dynamic folk-rock band blending rhythm-driven rock, haunting vocals, and harmony-rich Americana. Led by copper-haired twins Allie and Jacquie Lee, the group formed in 2013 in New York before relocating to Wilmington, NC, where they built a devoted fan base through energetic performances. Their music explores contrasts of light and dark, strength and vulnerability, all showcased in their acclaimed album A Trip Around the Sun. With sold-out shows, festival invites, and a cinematic storytelling approach, they continue to make waves in the folk-rock scene.

The band introduces their brand new song "Gunslinger". "It's a gritty rock anthem about someone who's always ready for a fight, quick to retaliate, driven by vengeance, and living by a shoot-first mentality. The lyrics question who actually wronged them, suggesting they may be projecting their pain outward. With a tone of warning, the song paints a picture of emotional volatility, isolation, and the inevitable fallout of living like a lone outlaw."

I love how the production makes every instrument sound clear, distinct, and powerful, and the band's performance is absolutely flawless. The song features a super dynamic rhythm section, amazing guitars, inspired in every second of the song (both rhythm and solos), and catchy vocals, very 70s. "Gunslinger" is a quality song, catchy and amazingly performed and produced. Give it a go and follow Striking Copper on social media, if you like what you hear.
