The Generals - The Devil You Know

The Generals rebooted when Portland rock vet Adam Luckey (Elephant Gun, Hardship) met LA transplant Erik Erath (Nyxora, Haunted Garage). Adam’s sturdy riffs and Erath’s blazing solos clicked instantly. Drummer Scott Meisse (Hellbound Hayride), another LA escapee, added punk and rockabilly energy to blast the band out of Portland’s doom rock murk. After a few line-up shifts, they found powerhouse vocalist Jim Lewis (Truth Be Damned, Four Bolt Main, Cleaner), and in 2024, Erath’s Nyxora bandmate Luke Miller (Sunset The Machine) joined on bass to anchor the sound. With a string of buzzworthy shows under their belt, they hit Portland’s famed Hallowed Halls to record their debut LP, The Devil You Know, with Justin Phelps and Mike Christie at the helm. The Generals are leading a no-nonsense revival of hard-rocking, fun-loving music in Portland—one blistering set at a time.

The title track of the new album, "The Devil You Know", features killer bass lines, frantic, precise and powerful drumming, inspired guitars, and super catchy vocals (the chorus will get stuck in your head and... what a vocal performance!). A short and sweet energetic song, with a great solo section too. Give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and remember to follow The Generals on social media.
