Perkele, formed in 1993, began as a punk rock band with influences from heavy metal and groups like Iron Maiden and Bad Religion. Their debut album Från flykt till kamp featured Swedish lyrics and blended punk with ska and reggae. International recognition led to English lyrics and the release of Voice of Anger, opening doors to European tours. Over time, their sound evolved—returning to punk on Forever (2010) and leaning into metal on Leaders of Tomorrow (2019).
Perkele return with a brand new single that radiates power and energy. "Burn" is an anthem to everything that makes us feel alive - the passions that give us strength, hope and drive. Whether it's the rush of skateboarding, the freedom of creating art, the calm of nature, the fire of love, or the pulse of music - it's that inner flame that keeps us going". says the bandI can hear the Maiden influence in the guitar riffs and I love the pace and the mood of the song, very 90s in many aspects, with catchy vocals and a fantastic rhythm section. A very cool song, amazingly written and performed by the band. Give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and remember to follow Perkele on social media.
