Before legendary television creator Chuck Lorre brought the world an unprecedented string of hit sitcoms, he arrived in Los Angeles in 1976 with a single dream: writing songs that could stand the test of time. While he went on to produce over two thousand episodes of iconic TV, Lorre never stopped writing music. Now, 16 tracks pulled straight from his personal archives have finally seen the light of day on his album, Songs That Kept Me Out of the Big Time, released across all streaming platforms on October 23, 2026.
The standout track off the record, “Top of Your Head,” is a hard-hitting rock anthem about "admiring the view," brought to vibrant life by Lorre's longtime friend, the iconic Joan Jett. Blending funny, poignant, and scathing songwriting with pure rock 'n' roll attitude, the single shines with spot-on production and insanely catchy guitar riffs.
The track creates a brilliant dynamic contrast, pairing laid-back, calm vocal verses with a roaring, high-energy chorus that hits like a ton of bricks. Driven by Joan Jett’s unmistakable vocal power and pristine musicianship, "Top of Your Head" stands as a top-tier rock track that proves Lorre's first love was always right where it belonged.
