ZED MOTEL is a four-piece garage rock band from the Swansea Valleys, blending bone-shakingly loud drums and gritty guitar riffs with hook-laden vocal harmonies and relentless dark grooves. Local cult favourites, they’ve spent the past decade perfecting their sound, taking their sweaty, high-energy live shows nationwide, delivering their signature mix of infectious melodies and unapologetic noise.
The band’s uncompromising and inimitable sound has lead to support slots for international touring acts such as Daily Thompson, Mad Ones and Ink Bomb, several plays on BBC Radio, a feature in Classic Rock Magazine, and two inclusions on the longlist for Welsh Music Prize album of the year.
In 2026, Zed Motel returns with a new chapter and fresh lineup. Local music stalwart Andy Morse (The Last Southern Ghost) joins with his thunderous vocals and songwriting skills, alongside Ryan Moriarty-Lloyd (Tusk, Swan Hill) on bass, adding even more fuzz to the low end. While crafting and testing new material, they’ve re-recorded two old classics, ‘Tie Dye’ and ‘Toledo’, with Death Monkey Records to mark this new era. Formed in 2015 by guitarist Chris Noir and Wales’ loudest drummer Jonathan Williams, the band has evolved over the years, adding Katie Skilton as lead vocalist for their last EP, ‘Leave With Nothing’, which toured across England and Wales, gained national radio play, and was featured in Classic Rock Magazine. Later, local legend Ed Purcell joined on bass.

‘Tie Dye’ celebrates a decade of Zed Motel, relaunching with Andy Morse as lead vocalist. The track captures the band’s essence in two minutes—fuzzy, groove-driven riffs, powerful vocals, and explosive energy. With its quality rhythm section and catchy vocals, it’s a must-hear for fans.
