Run Chicken Run - Kill The Coffee

Run Chicken Run was formed in October 2014, founded by Michele Montesi (vocals, guitar), Leonardo Piccioni (guitar), and Paolo Scarabotti (bass). The lineup solidified in December 2015 with the addition of drummer Mirko Santacroce. By summer 2016, the band entered the studio to record their debut album, Open The Grill, and quickly hit the local live circuit, performing a two-hour set across a dozen shows throughout Le Marche.

The following year saw continued momentum, with another 12 performances and participation in regional contests for emerging bands. 2018 marked a turning point: signing with a Rome-based agency opened doors to high-profile support slots, including a show with Oliver/Dawson Saxon. That same year, they released their second album, Don't Forget The Wine, under Volcano Records. Shortly after its release, Mirko stepped away, and drummer Simone Medori joined the fold.

Transitions continued into 2020 when Simone departed, making room for Mattia Bastari, who contributed to the band’s third studio album, Kill The Coffee. In June 2024, Mattia moved on, and Mirko returned to reprise his role behind the kit. In spring 2025, guitarist Leonardo left the group to focus on family. Current lineup is: Michele Montesi – vocals and guitar, Paolo Scarabotti – bass, Mirko Santacroce – drums.

Over the years, Run Chicken Run have supported iconic names such as Nanowar of Steel, Thomas Silver, Stef Burns, Pino Scotto, Strana Officina, Diamond Head, Thundermother, Marky Ramone, Chris Slade, and Lacuna Coil. Their fourth album is now underway, promising another energetic chapter.

This one below is the title track of their latest album. I love the energetic riffs, the pace, the mood, and the vibes of the song, performed with a lot of attitude and catchy at the same time. The performance is fantastic (check out the vocals and the long solo section, very inspired), and the production is perfect for the genre.
