The SunBears' music ignites their sound by capturing the essence of blues, rock, funk, and soul. The band combines a dash of John Mayer soul, a crunch of AC/DC rawness, and a handful of JET-like fervour. Both young and elderly are satisfied by their energising live performances, captivating tunes, and powerful rhythms.
Three of the band's six singles, which were published, peaked at number one on the Australian National AMRAP charts, while the other four songs comfortably occupied the Top Ten. In late 2023, the band went on tour in Europe. They have performed at some of Australia's most famous venues and events, including the Cronulla Jazz and Blues Festival, Thredbo Blues and Roots Festival, and the Enmore Theatre, where they supported Suzi Quatro.
I love the classic rock mood of their new single Gonna Make You A Star, reminding me of Jimi Hendrix (both riffs and solo) and with a captivating and catchy chorus. The song is enjoyable from start to finish, amazingly performed by the band (check out the stunning solo section!) and with a great sound as well.
