Wondering what I think about the Helloween discography? Not sure if you care, but since you’re here, why not take a look anyway? It’s fully updated, right up to the latest Giants and Monsters.

17) KEEPER OF THE SEVENTH KEYS - THE LEGACY (2005)
No, this one shouldn't have existed. At least with this name. It lacks the magic, the songwriting, and the atmosphere of the old Keepers. It's long without a reason (a double CD!), and it doesn't even have good songs, in my opinion. I hate this one, the last of the chart, without even thinking about it.
Top tracks: No top tracks. (I'm grumpy)

16) CHAMELEON (1993)
This is not Hellowen, this is a band trying to be something else and with trumpets!!! It was probably Michael Kiske's fault, tired of the Metal scene, and this is the last album with the blonde (at that time) singer. The band will come back stronger than this (not that it was difficult...).
Top tracks: Step out of hell, I believe.

15) 7 SINNERS (2000)
This is not the cover, but I'm too lazy to find the right one. Also, I didn't like this one much. I would have done for another one, but this one doesn't sound like the Helloween I like. A little too heavy and overproduced for my taste. It's not a bad album, but not to my taste. There is a follow-up to Perfect Gentleman, Mr Madman. If you listen to the two songs, you will probably get what I mean.
Top tracks: Where the sinners go, Are you metal?

14) STRAIGHT OUT OF HELL (2003)
Same as the predecessor. Super heavy guitars and overproduced. This one got great reviews at the time, and maybe overall it's a good album, but it's not the band I love and what I look for from the band.
Top tracks: Nabataea, Straight out of hell.

13) GAMBLING WITH THE DEVIL (2007)
Gambling with the devil comes after the last one in this chart (I don't even want to write the title), so it's definitely a step forward. We have some songs that I really like, but overall, it's not an album that I listen to anymore.
Top tracks: Kill it, Paint a new world.

12) PINK BUBBLES GO APE (1991)
This is the one before Chameleon. A little better, but I wouldn't say it's a good album, despite some good moments. Just to let you understand the context, this one is straight after The Keeper of the Seventh Key, part 2. The cover shows a woman in a corridor, with a fish in her hand. Ok...
Top tracks: Heavy metal hamsters, The chance, Your turn.

11) RABBIT DON'T COME EASY (2003)
This is a kind of strange one for me. There are fantastic songs that I adore (you can read the titles down in the top track section), but there are also lots of fillers that I don't want to listen to in my life anymore.
Top track: Just a little sign, Open your life, Hell was made in heaven.

10) HELLOWEEN (2021)
Super reunion with Michael Kiske and Kay Hansen. 3 Singers and a lot of people on stage. There are lots of moments that I love, but I find it a little too heavy and not very digestible in its entirety (including the production). I would have preferred something a little more Happy Helloween, like the first part of their career.
Top tracks: Out For the Glory, Fear of the Fallen, Skyfall.

9) MY GOD GIVEN RIGHT (2015)
This is probably my favourite one after the super heavy phase of the band. Not a masterpiece, but I listened to it a lot and find it more enjoyable than a big part of their discography.
Top tracks: My God-Given Right, The Swing Of A Fallen World, Lost In America.

8) MASTER OF THE RINGS (1994)
A big change after the Chameleon disaster. There are new members like Uli Kusch and Andi Deris, who save the band. Deris doesn't have the Kiske skills (who does, after all?), but he's a fantastic songwriter. I love lots of songs from this album, despite the fact that I'm not a fan of the production. I prefer the version from the live album High Live.
Top tracks: Sole survivor, Where the rain grows, Perfect Gentleman.

7) GIANTS & MONSTERS (2025)
The second album after the reunion hits the target with a perfect combination of all the band's eras and with easy listening songs. Maybe I'm getting old? The opener Giants on the Run is the perfect Helloween song, to me. You can read the full review here.
Top tracks: Giants on the Run, We can be Gods, Into the Sun.

6) WALLS OF JERICHO (1985)
The band starts with Kay Hansen on vocals and a traditional Heavy metal (with a hint of Power Metal). Kay is a decent singer, though still a bit rustic, much like the album itself, but it’s full of great songs and creative ideas.
Top tracks: Ride the Sky, Victim of Fate, Judas.
5) THE DARK RIDE (2000)
Dark and powerful (the angry pumpkin on the cover says it all), it's a different direction than its predecessor (which you will find below). The peaks are very high; unfortunately, not all the tracks live up to the hype, but 5-6 tracks are beautiful. Mr. Torture is one of my favourite tracks by the band, give it a listen (and a read), it's worth it.
Top track: Mr. Torture, We damn the night, The dark ride.

4) BETTER THAN RAW (1998)
Beautiful cover, great production, and a great album. On Push (with the band in a Judas Priest mood), Andi Deris reaches unrivaled heights (at least in the studio), and there's even a song in Latin, "Laudate Dominum." I knew it all by heart, without knowing the meaning at all, obviously.
Top tracks: Push, Revelation, Laudate dominum.

3) THE KEEPER OF THE SEVENTH KEYS - Pt 1 (1987)
Enter a boy with a mind-blowing voice named Michal Kiske (Kay Hansen, who will focus solely on guitar), and the band takes the Power Metal route. Ah, when the voice makes the difference... In "A Tale That Wasn't Right," some of the high notes of the voice can only be heard and appreciated by dogs.
Top tracks: A Tale that wasn't right, Helloween, Future world.

2) THE TIME OF THE OATH (1996)
My favorite Helloween album of their second half of their career. Deris (and the production) improved after Master of the Rings, and the songs are the perfect blend of the two styles. Heavy, but without losing their ironic, lighthearted touch. The band is officially resurrected, Hallelujah!
Top tracks: We Burn, Power, The Time of the Oath.

1) THE KEEPER OF THE SEVENTH KEYS - Pt 2 (1988)
The band settles in with Michael on vocals and delivers this volume 2, which, in my opinion, is significantly better than volume 1. It will also be significantly better than all the other albums. In short, it's my favorite Helloween album. Some songs become a manifesto of happy metal. Rise and Fall could be a song for kids, without distortions.
