21 Grammi marks a fresh chapter in Giuseppe Cucè’s artistic path. Released by TRP Vibes and distributed through EGEA Music, the album draws inspiration from the old legend that says the human soul weighs twenty-one grams. From this idea, Cucè creates an emotional journey of eleven tracks that explore vulnerability, desire, memory, and rebirth. The album follows the previous ones, called “La mela e il serpente” and “Attraversando Saturno”.
Recorded and mixed at TRP Studios in Catania, Italy, it blends soul, Italian cantautorato, rich orchestral layers, and atmospheric arrangements, shaped by Riccardo Samperi’s artistic direction and a group of outstanding musicians.
È tutto così vero opens the album with a summery feeling, very lighthearted and a fantastic arrangement. It's a super catchy pop song made with quality. The following track, Ventuno and Dimmi cosa vuoi, slows down a bit. They are melodic ballads with great vocal lines, very intense and very inspired. Fragile Equilibrio is an upbeat pop song, again with an inspired arrangement and a radio-friendly chorus, very catchy.
Since its debut on June 20, 2025, 21 Grammi has gained international praise, with reviews from the USA, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, and Italy highlighting its emotional depth, cinematic feel, and poetic vision
Among the other songs, I love the old Italian vibes of La mia dea during the verses, the intense chorus of Cuore d'inverno (with a fantastic piano throughout the whole song and probably my favourite song on the album, if I have to choose one), the pace of Tutto quello che vuoi, and the melodic chorus of Una notte infinita. before the funky-pop ending with Di Estate non si muore.
21 Grammi is a quality album, centered on melodies and with a superb quality in terms of sound, performance and arrangement. There is still quality in pop music, apparently.
