21 Grammi signals a new chapter in Giuseppe Cucè’s artistic journey. Released by TRP Vibes and distributed through EGEA Music, the album takes inspiration from the ancient legend that the human soul weighs twenty-one grams. From this concept, Cucè crafts an evocative soundscape of eleven tracks that delve into themes of vulnerability, desire, memory, and rebirth. It follows his earlier works, La mela e il serpente and Attraversando Saturno.
Since its release on June 20, 2025, 21 Grammi has earned international acclaim, with critics from the USA, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, and Italy praising its emotional depth, cinematic quality, and poetic vision.
The opening track, È tutto così vero, sets the tone with a breezy, summery vibe and a brilliantly crafted arrangement, a sparkling pop anthem that’s instantly memorable. Ventuno and Dimmi cosa vuoi slow the pace, offering heartfelt ballads with soaring vocal lines, brimming with intensity and inspiration. Fragile Equilibrio lifts the mood again with an upbeat pop energy, polished arrangements, and a chorus made for the radio.
Highlights include the nostalgic Italian flair of La mia dea, the powerful chorus of Cuore d’inverno (anchored by a stunning piano line and, to me, the standout track of the album, the driving rhythm of Tutto quello che vuoi, and the melodic sweep of Una notte infinita. The journey concludes with the funky-pop groove of Di Estate non si muore, leaving listeners on a vibrant note.
With its focus on melody, pristine sound, and masterful arrangements, 21 Grammi reaffirms that pop music can still embody artistry and quality. The album was recorded and mixed at TRP Studios in Catania, Italy. Under the artistic direction of Riccardo Samperi and supported by a remarkable ensemble of musicians, the album achieves a rich and immersive sound. Give it a go on the player below.
