Coma is one of those not too well-known songs but which is absolutely a pearl of the Guns n 'roses discography.
The last track of the first Use your illusion, it is the longest song of the band with its 10 minutes and 14 seconds. And, further curiosity, it has no chorus. At least, if you perceive one, let me know, because I can't find one.
Song with a strange structure and lyrics about a sort of "coma" experience (hence the title).
It is not known if it is inspired by a bad drug experience of some member of the band or not, the fact is that if you identify with the words a little, it is as if you were floating too: a lot of sound effects, voices, shots, heartbeats will immerse you completely in this sort of play by Axl Rose & associates.
Musically flawless (well it's part of Use Your Illusion combo, so you know what we're talking about): beautiful sounds and the band at its all-time high (at least in my opinion), with superb Axl and a Slash guitar churning out riffs and masterpiece solos as if there was no tomorrow.
If I may add another thing, I would certainly mention Matt Sorum's superlative performance on drums, one that in my opinion was forgotten too soon in the current Guns reunion and that is worth, again speaking for myself, much more than the current drummer (but also by Steven Adler). One of the reasons why I prefer Use your illusion to Appetite for destruction it's him.
Now enjoy Coma and immerse yourself in W. Axl Rose's schizophrenia.

Coma é una di quelle canzoni non troppo conosciute al grande pubblico ma che é assolutamente una perla della discografia dei Guns n' roses.
Ultima traccia del primo Use your illusion, é la canzone piú lunga della band con i suoi 10 minuti e 14 secondi. E, ulteriore curiositá, non ha ritornelli. Perlomeno, se ne percepite uno, fatemi sapere, perché io non ne trovo uno.
Canzone dalla struttura strana e testo che parla di una sorta di "coma" (appunto).
Non si sa se é ispirata da una brutta esperienza di droga di qualche componente della band o meno, sta di fatto che se vi immedesimate un po' sulle parole, é come se steste fluttuando pure voi: un sacco di effetti sonori, voci, spari, battiti del cuore vi faranno immergere completamente in questa sorta di opera teatrale di Axl Rose & soci.
Musicalmente ineccepibile (beh fa parte di Use Your Illusion, quindi sapete di cosa stiamo parlando): suoni splendidi e la band ai suoi massimi storici (perlomeno secondo me), con Axl superbo e una chitarra di Slash che sforna riff e assoli capolavoro come se non ci fosse un domani.
Se posso aggiungere un'altra cosa, menzionerei sicuramente la prestazione superlativa di Matt Sorum alla batteria, uno che secondo me é stato dimenticato troppo presto nella attuale reunion dei Guns e che vale, sempre per il sottoscritto, molto piú del batterista attuale (ma anche di Steven Adler). Uno dei motivi per i quali preferisco gli Use your illusion ad Appetite for destruction è proprio lui.
