Cover Your Eyes, censored album covers

There are some album covers that didn't pass the censorship: "Hell no, we won't publish this."
Today we are going to take a look at a few censored album covers. In some countries, the cover on the right has taken over. Who said the USA?

Bon Jovi - Slippery when wet
Come on, this is not even that explicit. A little more flexibility...

Great White - Hooked
"The hook a little down... a little more... just a bit more... Ok, done"

Roxy Music
"Guys, the problem is the women, get rid of them". Ok, done.

The Black Crowes - Amorica
"We don't want pubic hair on the cover. You know what, get rid of the woman, also."

Poison - Open up and say... Ahh!
I agree it's a little creepy. Maybe it was just an impression of Gene Simmons?

Scorpions - Virgin Killer
Scorpions are geniuses for ugly and tacky covers. Once again they exaggerated, I publish the version with the word "censorship", there is also the one without. Although, given their faces, perhaps the cover with the naked girl was less in bad taste.

Guns N' Roses - Appetite for destruction
I'm glad the original was censored, but only because the alternative cover is much better and iconic than the original.

Dream Theater- Live scenes from New York
Clairvoyants or did they already know everything? Exactly on September 11, 2001, this live album comes out with the twin towers (and all the surroundings) burning.

Hurricane - Slave
"The problem is the girl, right? Ok, get rid of her"

The Beatles - Yesterday and Today
"Guys, the image of headless dolls in a butcher shop is too strong. Why don't you put yourselves inside a suitcase instead? It could be fun" They seemed more amused before, to be honest. Look at the faces they have on the second cover.

Roger Waters - The Pros And Cons Of Hitch Hiking
"What do we do with this ass, mister censorship? How do we censor it?" "Put a nice patch on it" Fixed.

Mama Lion
We don't know what message this Mama Lion wanted to send, but she was caged, at least on the cover. Maybe even in real life.

Scorpions - Lovedrive
I told you the Scorpions make tacky covers. Even if bad taste, in this case is not even appropriate, it's just nonsense. What exactly are these two doing inside the car? I don't know. The second cover, of course, also sucks.

The covers of Saudi Arabia! I love them!

Is there a star in a bikini? They dress it up nicely. Here are the cases of Katy Perry, Shakira and Mariah Carey.

The rolling stones - Sticky fingers
Here's Sticky fingers by the Rolling Stones in the Spanish edition. Those pickled severed fingers aren't exactly tasteful, huh..

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Street Survivors
Hey guys, the fire is a little too much there. Ok, turn off everything.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland
Jimi photographed all his fans waiting for him with the number outside the door. The censor guy, probably envious because he's never seen a woman, cuts everything. Even if the good Jimi seems to be enjoying himself, on the "other" cover.

David Bowie - Diamond dogs
Bowie in a dog version in "Diamond dogs".
On the first cover it's really a bit too dog, look between the legs, "mr. censor" didn't like it.

Giovanni Gagliano

Passionate about music I wrote my first article for "Given To Rock" in 2012, reaching now 30K global followers. I am also a musician, gigging around London.
