Hailing from Western Australia’s Great Southern region, Albany alternative rockers Pinstripe’s anthemic new single and video ‘You and I’ are out October 1st, following the success of their debut release which saw them nominated in two categories in the 2021 WAM Song of the Year Awards. The epic music video was directed by cinematographer Christian Kennedy. The track was recorded in Albany, then mix and mastered in London by Grammy Award winner James Auwarter (Adam Levine, John Legend, Rhianna). Pinstripe’s melodic debut single ‘Everglow’ has racked up over a quarter of a million streams on Spotify (300k).
The band said about the song: ‘You And I’ explores the light and dark sides of a relationship, emphasizing the chaotic fulfillment and tortured emptiness left from disjoined timelines. “Rattling with a dark, but unmistakable modern alt-rock sound that draws instant comparisons to bands like Linkin Park, Dead Rituals, and After the Fall, ‘You and I’ hits hard and leaves a lasting impression.
What I like about the song is the general sound (guitars on the spot!) and the crescendo on the verse exploding in a melodic and memorable chorus. The video is fantastic too, with amazing colors and resolution
