Arcade games

Hey guys, here for another "different" article (I do it from time to time), but somewhat related.

Well, if you follow Given To Rock, you know that I'm passionate about the 80s and 90s and not exclusively about music but even about movies and video games as well. Regarding this second category, everything started back then, and if you are passionate about video games, I'm sure you know that.

Back in the day, my first console was the Nintendo NES, yes the very first one (I'm old, I know!), and I got that in 1988 if I remember well. My first game? Do I really have to tell you? Of course Super Mario Bros, a must for Nintendo (and also included in the packaging, you can't even escape it) and still very appreciated and mentioned everywhere. Then I remember other beautiful games like Mega Man, Rad Racer, Ducktales, Track and field II, Street Fighter, Tetris... What a great era for early video games. Well, expensive too! I remember they were really pricey even at that time and I had to wait for months and months to get a new now. If you think about that, they were the equivalent of 80 or 90 euros at that time, but if you consider the cost of life...

I'm here to tell you that if you are a fan of retro gaming there is this new website called Plays.org (click on the link to get there) where if you can find tonnes of retro games, divided into categories. Yes, I mentioned it before and you can find a version of Tetris as well! I was literally in love with Tetris, back in the day, very addictive (maybe a little too much, actually. My mum took away the cartridge at some point). I had also fun playing with Angry Boss, a relieving game if you hate your (ex) boss like me, or a football game called empty goal soccer. There is a category of music games (for kids) too.

Of course we are not talking about last-generation console games, but nice and funny retro games you (or your kids) can enjoy, especially from your phone, when you want to relax for ten minutes, wait for a friend, etc. The website is also very quick, minimal and it's about gaming and it's completely free, so feel free to take a look.

About me now, I still play console games and even quick games you can play on your smartphones.
Still very passionate with graphic adventure games (Broken sword 5 and Blacksad are the two last games I've played with). If you have any recommendations or comments, feel free to write in the comments section below.
