Interview - Jesse Grossi


California-based musician, singer and songwriter Jesse Grossi captivates one with his laid back design and rich vocals. There is a warmth and tenderness to be found in a kaleidoscopic soundscape.

- Hi Jesse and welcome to this interview. Tell us about your latest release Grow up.
Grow Up is an up beat Indie-Rock song with elements of Ska-Punk and Reggae-Rock. Grow up has rich harmonious vocals and melodies that really give it a smooth touch. "Grow Up is about trying to come to grips with maturity and dealing with the struggles of getting older, yet still acting like a kid"!!!

- How would you describe your sound?
I call it a California groove "California-based musician, singer and songwriter Jesse Grossi bringing the sounds of yesteryear to the 21st century, Grossi captivates one with his laid back design and rich vocals. There is a warmth and tenderness to be found in a kaleidoscopic soundscape. The Los Angeles wonder-kid is once again confirming his inner talent, and his willingness to move forward.

- What do you write about?
I usually write about previous experiences and emotions that I've felt or gone through.

- What do you listen to when you are home?
I listen to pretty much everything, lately I've been listening to Mozart. I love all types of music from sublime, Mac Dre, Nirvana to Bob Marley.

- Your favourite live performance so far?
So far my favorite show has been the Fiesta Del Sol festival in Santa Fe, Argentina.

- Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage
I just always try and have fun and keep a smile on my face.

- Your favourite albums?
Sublime, Dreganomics, The Chronic 2001

- A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
I would love to have been able to kick it with, Frank Sinatra, Im his stories would be the most intriguing and im sure it would be fun party!!!

- What would you ask backstage if you were the most important band on earth?
How much do you make?

- What are your plans for the next future?
My plans are to continue releasing new singles every month, as well as start to perform again all over the Los Angeles area.
