Interview - Gramma Vedetta

Bio
Hi lads, I am Basetta from Gramma Vedetta. GV is a power trio born in 2017 in London, when myself and Dan started from the typical jam in a sofa, to start looking for a drummer and activate the engines of our mothership. We have released two EP's where our sound evolved into a more defined research of sounds and vibes and we’ve just announced a new full length title “The Hum Of The Machine” out on the 27th of May 2022

Line up
Gramma Vedetta are Dan (Vocals, Guitars, Synths) and myself Basetta (Bass, Backing Vocals and Synths) and Paul Annis, the brand new drummer that just joined the band

We sound like
As we have different music influences, our sounds are travelling from the Sabbathian vibes to more recent psychedelic stoner tunes.

Discography
Pirate Session – Live Single
Proof Of Concept – EP 2018
A.C.I.D. Compliant – EP 2020
The Hum Of The Machine - LP 2022

Influences
There are so many bands that influence our style but If I have to summarize I will definitely say Rush, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Monster Magnet, Kyuss, Queen, SOAD, Alice in Chains.

What do you write about?
Dan is the man in charge of our lyrics and he talks mainly about what surrounds us and the way of how this society is living.

Your favourite live performance so far
Probably our favourite live performance is our last gig in May at the Black Heart in London. It was more than 1 year without hitting a stage due to the pandemic and the vibe was absolutely great. Was not only us so excited to be back on stage but also we can see the happiness in the crowd's face.

Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage
I’m a left-handed bass player and sometimes my position on stage is on the right (stage facing) which means that the neck of our instrument points towards the center of the stage. We move a lot during our performance and a funny thing that happens every time is that Dan hits my bass with his guitar and one of my strings goes out of tune. every single time. we should have a ‘stage movements test’ during the rehearsals LOL.

Your favourite records
Rush – 2112
Alice in Chains – Dirt
Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin I
Black Sabbath – Master of Reality
Kyuss – Welcome to Sky Valley

A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
Personally I would love to meet John Paul Jones.

What will you ask backstage if you were the most important band on earth?
Italian food for sure.
