Interview - Nvision

NVision consists of Alex on vocals, Nate on drums, Chase on guitar and vocals and Phil on bass.
Let's have a chat with them about their music.

Hi guys and welcome to this interview. Tell us about your latest release Fake Friends.

Thank you for having us! Fake Friends is our second release of the year and it really cements a heavier style that we're trying to continue with down the road. We have already seen a lot of love and support for it, and we can't wait to continue pushing this song out to the people that need it most!

How would you describe your sound?
NVision could be described most easily as Modern Rock. To add a little flavor, think of it as Post-Alternative that had a nasty little Tinder fling with EDM.

- What do you write about?
The vast majority of our music is written about Mental Health and Human Rights. We're currently writing and EP (Fake Friends is one of the lead singles) diving into the darker parts of the mind and how we as a band have coped with those experiences and to help others feel less alone.

- What do you listen to when you are home?
Nate: Mostly a lot of classic country. It helps me escape to the moments I spent with my grandpa.
Chase: Ice Nine Kills, Billie Eilish, Black Veil Brides, Bullet for my Valentine
Phil: Fear Factory Obsolete album is a definite go to for me.
Alex: A wide variety from Logic, to Attack Attack! and Between the Trees and occasionally some Chase Rice and similar artists.

- Your favourite live performance so far?
Chase: My first show with NVision.
Phil: When we performed at b'Lux for she said fest.
Alex: Hands DOWN Ashley Street Station in Valdosta, GA.

- Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage.
Well, shows are always fun. This year we have had a promoter angrily, drunkenly rapping and talking shit about a band he booked on stage, we've had a fire alarm go off mid set, and a breaker tripped on stage at two different venues. Gotta love live music!

- Your favourite albums?
Nate: My go to is DIVISIONS, Vessels, and Transmissions all by Starset. Still kinda warming up to the new album haha
Phil: Silverstein When Broken Is Easily Fixed, Megadeth Cryptic Writings, and Inflames Down Wicked and No Good

- A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
Nate: Patrick, the drummer for Ice Nine Kills. I feel like him and I would be the best of friends!
Chase: Spencer Charnas or Joe Occhiuti from Ice Nine Kills

- What would you ask backstage if you were the most important band on earth?
We're all pretty humble dudes. Give us some water and Raze energy and we're good to go. One bar offered us a beer tab which was pretty sweet. We're just grateful to get out and meet new people and be able to play live music.

- What are your plans for the next future?
We are currently pushing hard for radio and looking to break the top 100 on the Billboard Rock Active charts. In 2022 we have some new releases coming out and will be supporting those with regional shows from Texas to Florida. We definitely want to go see our friends in Georgia again and we have some catching up to do in Tulsa, Oklahoma with our friends in Fullbright. Go check out their new album if you haven't heard it!
