Interview - Scott Rocco

Acoustic show

Scott Rocco is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter who will release his debut album “Ignited" in 2022. Let's have a chat with him about his music.

- How would you describe your sound?
I would classify it as raw heartfelt rock.

- What do you write about?
I write and sing for the underdog in us all. The contender that must confront insecurity, doubt, and fear -- eventually finding our way back to love. I take those deterrents and somehow spin them into love anthems reflecting on relationships, struggles, self-discovery, places I've lived and breathed in life. I hope my songs inspire people to grow into a better version of themselves. Myself included.

- What do you listen to when you are home?
Lately I've been listening to Billy Idol, Steve Perry, Journey, U2, and a lot of movie soundtracks and scores.

- Your favourite live performance so far?
Definitely Ed Sheeran. Very talented and real.

- Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage.
During my recent show in Hollywood, I jumped on a sofa in the venue to do a sing along with the crowd, but my guitar chord popped out so I ended up playing with no amp for a good amount of time before someone popped it back in. Sometimes you just gotta roll with it!

- Your favourite albums?
Pearl Jam - Ten
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run
Journey - Greatest Hits

- A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
Bruce Springsteen

- What would you ask for backstage, if you were the most important band on earth?

Nothing cause I would already have everything.
