FOX VIOLET Torn

torn

Fox Violet combines ambient dreamscapes with dark pop-rock hooks and discordant vocals to create a unique sound. Homelessness, disassociation, desire, and our cultural preoccupation with fairy tales are all explored in the lyrics. Fox Violet tells bold stories that are ethereal, relatable, and vulnerable, using soaring layered psychedelic guitars and crunching synths.
LA WEEKLY, Wonderland Magazine, LA WEEKLY,  Under the radar and other well-known music journals, airplay on the US and international radio, and selection as a buzz band to watch by 89.5 FM Australia.

Their new single is called Torn starting quietly with a nice bass guitar and drums in evidence and quiet dark vocals. The song seems to build up with an electric guitar in the background but the song actually stays where it is, apart from vocals getting more intense especially towards the end of the song. That creates in me a sort of discomfort that I really like in music and art in general (same concept of horror movies, if you think about it).

Very good song, well sung and well produced as well. Especially if you like dark atmospheres, give it a try by clicking on the Spotify player below and don't forget to follow the band if you like what you hear.
