SALT are an alternative post punk band from Edinburgh, Scotland. Messing about with all genres to create what they feel like.
- How would you describe your sound?
A mix of post punk and pop, we all have different tastes. We like our music to be dynamic and heartfelt.
- What do you write about?
Everything that comes into my head, from anything personal to the obscure. Like boxcar being about a hobo that travelled the railways, it could not be more removed from our existence in Edinburgh, Scotland but still inspires.
- What do you listen to when you are home?
Love listening to Thomas Truax, wonderfully weird and inspirational. We supported him at the end of 2021
- Your favourite live performance so far?
Easy supporting Thomas Truax, although it was scary as his wonderful contraptions were on stage and we were scared we would knock them over.
- Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage.
Easy, first gig for SALT, our first song was Fear - I introduced us by saying "Good evening, we are Fear". We did not change our name - but thought about it for a second.
- Your favourite albums?
Hunky Dory by David Bowie, The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave and the Banana one, you know the Velvet Underground
- A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
Nick Cave
- What would you ask for backstage, if you were the most important band on earth?
Oooooh a crate of Holsten Pils, and maybe a basket of fruit.
- What are your plans for the near future?
To take the world by a mild breeze, or just basically to be heard. We have so many songs.
