The Absurd is a desert grunge power trio from Los Angeles. Garage, Psychedelic, Alternative, and Stoner Rock are all represented. Spiritually motivated, philosophically driven, and psychedelically influenced.
The band built a reputation for themselves in Los Angeles and across the west coast with their chaotic, unhinged shows and predilection for punk rock controversy. "The Sun Still Rises," The Absurd's second album was released on November 3rd, 2020. Their first two albums were both well-received by the heavy music underground, earning them many Best of the Year nominations. The band has been referred to "Nirvana jamming with the Stooges" in one Classic Rock Magazine review, while other sites have recognised influences such as Radiohead, Jack White, QOTSA, and BRMC.
