Interview - LIE LAND

Lie Land is a rock band born in 2021 and Based in Tuscany, Italy. Let's have a chat with them!

Welcome to this interview. Tell us about your latest release Loveland.

Hi and thank you for this opportunity! Our latest release is our first album called “LOVELAND”. It talks about five different shades of love. Every song comes with its own videoclip that we uploaded on YouTube. You can find “LOVELAND” on every digital store!

How would you describe your sound?
If we have to describe our sound the only word that we can think of is “undefined” obviously the genre helps us by giving us a route to follow, but we are still working on trying to find the sound that fits us better, but we don’t dislike the idea of not being bound to a specific sound!

What do you write about?
In “LOVELAND” the theme is Love. Five different songs, with different meanings and structures but each one of them has the same theme. When we write in the rehearsal we write without giving us a specific theme but following our emotions, so that the theme could be about rage, love, sadness and the list goes on..

What do you listen to when you are home?
There’s not a single answer to that, we all come from different musical background, as rock, classical, hip-hop, EDM and blues. What unifies it all is our love for Italian artists. We all have the same Deep respect for them closing the GAP of the different background.

Your favourite live performance so far?
We can mention two different scenarios. The best live performances we did in terms of service, location and stage set up was in Santomato, it was our second show ever and we absolutely smashed it.
But absolutely the best Live we did was on May 15th, that is because we played a lot, and the public hard been cheering us all night long. It was a real blast!

Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage.
It’s hard to find a single funny moment, we are really really good friends and we joke a lot. But if we have to mention a single event it will be this:
We were in studio recording Love Is All and Heart Hacker, at the end of day one, we were done with Love is All and while we were all listening to the unmixed track, trying to see if everything was okay, we heard behind us Jacopo that was all alone in a corner of the room playing his guitar unplugged and singing “le banane”, saying that in the bridge of Love is All the riff that he plays reminds him of those words. Since that day we sing "le banane" everytime Love is All comes on.

Your favourite albums?
The albums that we have to mention are:
The Black album by Metallica
The Wall by Pink Floyd
12000 Lune by Lucio Dalla
Californication by RHCP
All of the discography of Queen

A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
Well, choosing only one is very difficult, but it would be Slash or Axl Rose for sure.

What would you ask for backstage, if you were the most important band on earth?
Very funny question, probably alcohol, cigarettes and lots of food, like seriously, lots of food.

What are your plans for the near future?
We are focused on writing stuff down, so we can play more and grow up as a band.
