Die Tired - Interview


Here to talk with the guys from Die tired, an American rock band from Reading, Pennsylvania. 

Matthew DeAngelis, a guitarist, is the band's frontman. Sean Boyle, a guitarist, contributes lead guitar and rhythm. Jamieson Lee, a bassist, provides the low end accompaniment. Brandon Ballantyne, drummer, provides percussion and time keeping.

How would you describe your sound? 
Jamieson - Rooted in rock with flares of punk, pop, and grunge, depending on our mood.

What do you write about? 
Matt - I write most of the lyrics and tend to use them to express a variety of emotions or ideas that come to me from observing everyday life.

What do you listen to when you are home? 
Sean - I’m very opened minded so however I’m feeling at that particular moment is what I’m listening to, most days consist of classic rock, pop punk, indie, and alternative.



Your favourite live performance so far? 
Brandon - It is hard to choose a favorite, but I would have to say the Grape Room, Philadelphia because of the iconic music scene.
 
Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage.
Matt - Packing in an outdoor tent in 7 degree weather

Your favourite albums? 
Sean - Cool To Be You by The Descendents, The Sufferer and The Witness by Rise Against, Core by Stone Temple Pilots, Nevermind by Nirvana, Enema Of The State by Blink 182.

Matt - Cave In "Jupiter" Kashmir "No Balance Palace" Alice In Chains "unplugged" Pantera "Far Beyond Driven" ..many more.

Jamieson - Macro by Jinger, S.C.I.E.N.C.E. by Incubus, Mean Everything To Nothing by Manchester Orchestra, anything Pink Floyd during the David Gilmour years. The list goes on and on.

What would you ask for backstage, if you were the most important band on earth?
Sean - Chef Ramsey as my personal chef  
Matt - Personal 5-star chef. 
Jamieson - Hot wings. 
Brandon - A Sega Genesis stocked with the Sonic the Hedgehog collection.

What are your plans for the near future? 
Sean - Keep writing music and laughing with my band members.
