SUBZEN, a three-piece Australian-German grunge band from Berlin, draws inspiration from the music of the 1990s and 2000s by using fuzzed-out guitars, growling basses, heavy drumming, and pop-friendly hooks.
The band, which was formed in 2020, has been working diligently on Columbia, their debut album. Fans of the Foo Fighters, Silverchair, or the Smashing Pumpkins will find that the four-track EP has something for everyone in a thrilling 21st century rendition.
How Did We Get Here, their newest single, was released on September 20, with the help of platinum-selling producer Carl Albrecht. The song starts with good energy and it brings me back to the grunge era for the simplicity of the verses and the energy during the chorus, with a high-gain guitar and a catchy and upbeat chorus. The song is very well performed and very well produced and I totally recommend it.
