RELIC - American Kid

A growing group of young musicians from the heart of Texas comprised of Jake Baker (vocals, guitar), Nathan Slonaker (drums), and Carson Carothers (guitar) is known as RELIC, an unsigned indie rock band that was founded in 2018 and is committed to fusing passionate energy with thoughtful poetry. With four EPs already released and a significant project in the works, RELIC is developing a refined yet natural sound and becoming more authentic. The band aims to impact your heart as strongly as they assault your ears with soulful, unpretentious music.

American Kid is their first single of their upcoming album "Golden", releasing October the 14th. What I like about the song is the pure rock n' roll vibes, the clean but energetic vocals and the production, modern but with the right punch. The guitars are inspired (check out the guitar solo!) and the rhythm section is very dynamic and precise. Great song, enjoyable from start to finish.
