Alter Bridge is an American rock band formed in 2004 by former members of the band Creed. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Myles Kennedy, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips.
The band's debut album, "One Day Remains," was released in 2004 and featured hit singles like "Open Your Eyes", the stunning "Broken wings" (watch the video at the bottom of the page) and "Find the Real." The album received positive reviews from critics and helped to establish Alter Bridge as a force in the rock music world. Their follow-up album, "Blackbird" (2007) was also well received and featured the hit single "Rise Today" and the title track, which is my favourite song in their discography and in my all-time top 3, probably. I wrote an article about that song that you can find here. The album was produced by Michael Baskette, who would go on to produce the band's next three albums as well.
In 2010, Alter Bridge released their third studio album, "AB III," which included the hit single "Isolation". the album had a more melodic and experimental sound, which resonated well with the fans. The band's fourth studio album, "Fortress" (2013) , was released to critical acclaim and featured the hit single "Addicted to Pain." The band's fifth studio album, "The Last Hero" (2016), was another commercial success, featuring the singles "Show Me A Leader" and "My Champion".
"Walk the Sky" (2019) marked a departure from the band's heavier sound, and instead featured more melodic and experimental elements. "Pawns & Kings" (click for the review) is their latest album (2022), more in style with the first part of their career (and with a superb title track!).
Throughout their career, Alter Bridge has toured extensively, performing in front of packed audiences around the world. Their live shows are known for their high-energy performances and Kennedy's emotive and powerful vocals, and Tremonti's guitar virtuosity.
