Interview - CYANIDE 4

1) Bio:
Cyanide 4 is a Hard Rock/Glam Metal band formed in Athens, Greece back in 2008 mixing their influences varying from the Los Angeles’ 80s glam era to the new rock ‘n’ roll wave of Scandinavian bands of our days. The band, quickly built a strong fan-base in Greece and abroad by releasing 3 albums and doing many live shows, both headlining and as a support act to acclaimed artists, like the Scorpions, Bonfire, W.A.S.P., Lizzy Borden, Crashdiet, Over The Rainbow, Ten, etc.

2) Line up:
Currently the band consists of:
G.A. Sinn – Vocals, Rhythm Guitar
Adrian Kyp. – Drums, Backing Vocals
Mitch V. – Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals

3) How do you sound like?
We’d say that our sound is a mix of the Los Angeles’ 80s glam-era sound to a more recent/modern one, like the revival-scene of the new wave of Sleaze/Glam Metal, mainly in Scandinavia. Generally, it ranges from the 80s' hard rock style to the more modern, heavy sound, with ‘fresh’ and clear production, which we consider as the trademark of our music.

4) Discography:
So far, the band has released a couple of demos and an EP, also was featured in many compilation CDs, but our main discography, our Full-Length albums are:
- "Everyday is a Masquerade" [2012 - Perris Records (USA)]
- "Nekyia" [2017 - Perris Records (USA)]
- "AmaΛgamA" [2022 – Perris Records (USA)]

5) What are your influences?
Well as mentioned before, most of the great bands of the 80s, either Heavy Metal or Hard Rock, like e.g. Ratt, Motley Crue, Dokken, Metallica, Whitesnake, Judas Priest, etc.

6) What do you write about?
Our lyrics are basically based on everyday-experiences, personal experiences or even historical-facts…Anything inspiring can potentially become a good song…So, technically we don’t have any ‘lyrical/concept-barriers’. Whatever is inspiring turns into a song…

7) Your favorite live performance so far?
About a decade ago, playing alongside the mighty Scorpions, in front of 10.000 approx.! That’s considered the live-gig highlight of the band, so far!

8) Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage:
Well, during studio-time/recordings, there are not so many funny stories to recall…You know, it’s the stress, the tight-schedule, etc., so the funny things usually come just after that, haha!
On the other hand, on stage or generally on tour, there have been many funny stories for sure…we can not actually remember, hahaha! But it’s guaranteed that we’ve had and we’ll have good times on stage!

9) Your favorite records?
Well, it could really lots of favorite records, but let’s stick to those 3 now…:
Poison - Look What The Cat Dragged In
Motley Crue - Shout At The Devil
Crashdiet - Unattractive Revolution
