Song of the day: The High Road - Brand New You

2016 saw the creation of The High Road by Don Scott and Ron Fathers in Canada. On the strength of their vocal harmonies and shared musical tastes, the two decided to start a new band after the ashes of a previous band reunion. Richard Fathers eventually joined the team as a full-fledged member after initially joining as a side member. Dave Martin picked up the phone because he needed to fill the position of the keyboard player. Greg Frank, the band's drummer, was the last piece of the puzzle.

Each member contributes lead and harmony vocals, and they are praised for their beautiful harmonies and excellent songwriting.

This is their new single, called Brand New You. I really like the production, the pace and the mood of the song, very enjoyable from start to finish and very well performed by the band, thanks to a catchy chorus (vocal harmonies are spot on), a solid and precise rhythm section and very inspired guitar lines (check out the guitar solo!). Give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and don't forget to follow The High Road on social media as well.
