Song of the day: Oceans On Orion - Killing the messenger

Lev Kerzhner, the lead singer and primary songwriter of the band, founded it in 2017 under the name "Hartsbane" using songs he had previously written. The band entered the studio to record their debut album after releasing a "live in concert" EP titled "As Summer Dies" in 2019. Their musical arrangements quickly departed from their live roots and evolved into a heavier modern sound, prompting them to rebrand as Oceans on Orion.

This is their new single, called "Killing the messenger". I really like the opening riff, the overall pace and the mood of the song, pure old-style hard rock but with a modern sound. The vocals are catchy but energetic, the rhythm section is very solid and dynamic and the guitars are very inspired (check out the stunning guitar solo!). Give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and don't forget to follow Oceans on Orion on social media as well.
