Wilson and Beggins pushed the boundaries of writing, freely drawing from their personal experiences and the artists from around the world who have influenced their development. Their voices blended together as naturally as any family act. They started thinking differently about producing, concentrating on one track at a time, as a result of their rate of output over the previous year.
A home-built warehouse studio outside of Philadelphia is where Dr. Dog's Scott McMicken picked up the bass and "joined the band for a week," arranging harmonies and sharing living and recording space. That route took them around the world, from Chris Walla's (Death Cab For Cutie) studio in Troms, Norway, where the Northern Lights are the brightest in the world.
