Song of the day: Winterstate - Superhuman

WINTERSTATE is led by singer-songwriter Kelvin Killmon (Seattle, WA) and multi-instrumentalist Alex Ortberg (Rochester, MN). The two have continued to write and record new songs together, drawing inspiration from upbeat bands like The Killers, Mae, Anberlin, Incubus, and Foo Fighters. They first met as students at the Berklee College of Music campus in Valencia, Spain.

The band's music is built on Alex's clean, multi-layered compositional style and tight, driving rhythms. Rich vocal harmonies and anthemic melodies are added to the mix by Kelvin. His perceptive lyrics cover a wide range of subjects, from celebrating life in the face of chronic illness to small-town love affairs.

On February 18th, 2023, WINTERSTATE released their brand-new 5-song EP, SAILORS AND SIRENS.

This is their new single, called Superhuman. The song starts with a tasty drum fill, technical guitars and melodic vocals. I really love the production (the song sounds fantastic) and the band, with a technical performance but always looking for the right melody as well (the chorus is super catchy). A great song, from every point of view. Give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and don't forget to follow WINTERSTATE on social media.
