Blue Shirt Charlie - Shelter

The members of the Nashville, Tennessee-based Alt-Country group Blue Shirt Charlie (Richie Sessions, Russ Chapman, and Lex Lipsitz) have collaborated on music with artists like Shooter Jennings and Wade Bowen.  This is their new song, called "Shelter" which is a driving, melodic stomper with lyrics that discuss some true tragedies. The theme is: What gets you through the day—what’s your shelter?

I really like the pace and the mood of the song, with a contagious initial riff (reminding me of "The boss" Springsteen) and a very classy arrangement and performance. The vocals are catchy, the lyrics are deep and I really like the instrumental break, in the middle of the song, before the grand finale, very anthemic. This is a very cool song, also with a spot on production.
