Song of the day: Blueburst - Amplify Me

Craig Douglas Miller, a guitarist and vocalist who is releasing his debut album at the age of 50 and reviving a musical career he had previously written off, is the creator of the unlikely "new" band Blueburst.

Miller went into a 20-year musical hibernation after major label interest in his alt-rock band in the 1990s never quite materialised. But after getting in touch with guitarist Marty Willson-Piper (The Church, Noctorum), Miller discovered exactly what he had been looking for: a reliable guide and partner. Willson-Piper, drummer Michael Jerome (Better than Ezra, John Cale), and bassist Ryan Kelly all contributed to Miller's album of original songs (Dayroom).

I really like the vibes of their new single "Amplify Me". The band said about the song: "This is the hardest rock we've done, with huge guitars and a nasty attitude. It's about the human need to be heard and the rage that builds up in us when we feel we're being ignored".  The vocals are very energetic and the chorus (absolutely catchy) brings me to the R.E.M golden era. The band's performance is spot on and the production is perfect for the genre. This is a great song, give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and don't forget to follow Blueburst on social media as well.
