Interview - Cenobite

- Hi and welcome to this interview. Tell us about your latest release "Torment Your Flesh and Explore the Limits of Experience"
Greetings! Our new release is the result of three years of continuous knowledge gathering. Life has masterfully learned to destroy life. This is what our new work is dedicated to. We performed all stages of work on our own, independently of anyone, so everything turned out exactly the way we wanted.

- How would you describe your sound?
Describing sounds in words is difficult. We tried to combine the incongruous in order to stimulate the imagination and evoke emotions. Our sound is a guide to a dark and unfriendly, but incredibly interesting world. No references, clichés or labels.

- What do you write about?
The main line, maintained from album to album, is the deity's desire for order, balance and silence. Life is contrary to these concepts, so it must be destroyed.

- What do you listen to when you are home?
At present, jazz, classics, works by Vangelis, Pink-Floyd, various retrowaves, and of course metal and rock new releases are mostly listened to. but they almost always disappoint.

- Your favourite live performance so far?

If you mean the Cenobite band, then this is probably our debut performance at the forest open-air festival Shallow Grave 4. Very atmospheric and hot!

- Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage.
Perhaps there are no funny stories. Everything that happened was quite dangerous and could lead to injury. Either a huge cow skull flew from the audience into the drums, then a man ... but we had fun! And in the studio, we're pretty disciplined and focused, so it's just work.

- Your favorite albums?

Cannibal Corpse - Butchered at Birth, Sepultura - Schizophrenia, Vangelis - Blade Runner, Pink-Floyd - Delicate sounds of thunder, Naked City - Torture Garden. There are a lot of favorite albums, I wrote the first thing that came to mind.

- A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
Hard to tell. I personally don't know my idols and maybe they will turn out to be not very interesting and pleasant interlocutors over a glass of beer. But perhaps it's Max Cavalera, John Zorn, Alex Webster, Shawn Crahan.

- What would you ask for backstage, if you were the most important band on earth?
We are ascetics and we need a clean room of 4x4 meters and water. Everything else is nonsense distracting from the music.

- What are your plans for the near future?
There are plans to shoot several videos for songs from the new album, a small tour and the start of work on a new record! Let's expand and deepen our gloomy universe!
