Mersier is made up of Ingi, Dagur, Algeir, Saevar, and Oliver. The founding members came together in 2019 and wrote the first tunes. In 2020, the band relocated to Reykjavik, where new members were recruited. Mersier performs progressive rock/metal with inspirations from Gojira, Rabea Massad, and System of a Down, with an emphasis on ambient musicianship and melodic parts. The band began producing their debut album "Carved In Stone" in March 2022.
"Heaven's Own" is the band's second single from their debut album. I love all the riffs and the overall production, perfect for the genre. Generally, I find the song very inspired from every point of view, including the vocals, with very catchy melodies (great chorus!) and a very solid and energetic rhythm section.
