"Welcome to the Show" is the third single from "Road", following "I'm Alice" and "White Line Frankenstein", which were released earlier this year. The album was produced by Bob Ezrin, who has worked with Cooper since his classic albums in the 1970s, such as "Love It to Death", "Killer", "School's Out", and "Welcome to My Nightmare". Cooper wrote and composed the songs with his longtime bandmates Ryan Roxie, Chuck Garric, Tommy Henrikson, Glen Sobel, and Nita Strauss, who have been touring with him for years.
Cooper said that he wanted to showcase his band's talent and chemistry on the album, as they are only together when they are on the road. He said, "For Road, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs. I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material.
