Americana: SadBlackLab - Big Bad Wolf

SadBlackLab is a central Kentucky-based Alternative Acoustic trio. The arrangement has been described as "non-derivative" by guitarist/vocalist Greg McIntosh, violinist Emily Miller, and bassist Ellis Waddell. The music features repetitive finger-style guitar, dark and lyrical vocals, vibrant colours and fluid delivery from violin strings, and a distinctively styled upright bass. The trio is capable of smoothly combining periods of exquisite chaos with rhythmic intensity, pulling the listener inside SadBlackLab's narrative sound realm.

This is their new single, called "Big Bad Wolf". I find the guitar soothing and inspired and I love the quality arrangement (the violin fits perfectly!). You can hear that the band's music has different inspirations and contamination and the performance is spot on, with lots of solos. Overall, a quality song and performance, give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and remember to follow SadBlackLab on social media.
